Northumberland County's OHV Recreation Park is currently in the planning phase. The proposed park covers multiple municipalities located in southern Northumberland County. (Coal Township, Zerbe Township, Mount Carmel Township, East Cameron Township, West Cameron Township, and City of Shamokin)

In early February the Northumberland County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the Planning Department received a grant to perform a master site plan. This grant was through the generosity of the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources (DCNR).

Currently the Planning Department is working closely with the consultant, Pashek & Associates, to develop the master site plan. In addition to mapping out various trails for motorized and non-motorized recreation this process will involve economic impact feasibility studies, plant and wildlife impact, and community outreach meetings just to name a few.
